I'm wanting to sell my Blue Voodoo but I've tried searching and am having a hard time finding what a fair price would be. It's an earlier one, I know they changed the logo on them not long after I got mine. I have no idea if that makes any difference whatsoever. Ideally, I'd like to get 500 and according to some I've seen, that doesn't sound out of line but some are going for less. Of course, people can ask for whatever they want but that doesn't mean they'll ever get it.

Can check eBay, set it to show the completed sales. That'll give at least a ballpark idea of what people actually settled on.

Even there, I can't seem to find much. I'm thinking of putting it on CL for $500 and seeing what happens. From what I have been able to find, it doesn't seem out of line but I really don't know. I don't guess it would hurt to try.

I've thought about selling it for years but now that I'm moving, I could use the space but mainly, it's just way more power than I have any use for. I don't need noise complaints in a new neighborhood lol. At this point, I may just wait until I'm moved to try to sell it though.

Sure, just throw it up on craigslist. You can always lower the price a little every week until you find an interested party.

I played one of these years ago and was impressed. They do sound great, but not sure of the quality. The speakers in the 4x12 will be a factor as well. Bottom might be worth $75 ... or $500 on its own.

Blue or black vinyl?

500 is probably in the ballpark

I owned a Crate Blue VooDoo 120 Head. Bought it for $200. I ended up trading it for a Charvel MIC Desolation series Soloist.

If you can get more then $300 for it your doing well, I regret ever having a few crates in my life.

There is a blue Voodoo Half Stack on Craigslist here in Nashville for $450. It has been on a long time. It looks like it could be a fun amp.

It is blue.

I do like how the distortion channel sounds. It'll tear your head off lol. The clean channel is really shrill though, I never did figure out how to tame it, even an eq pedal didn't do much. I just don't need nearly that much power and it takes up a lot of space. I'll put it up after I move and see where it goes. I doubt I'll get as much as I'd like, the value just doesn't seem to be there. That's how it goes sometimes. Whatever I can get will be more useful for other expenses going on than keeping it. I just don't see it getting any more valuable either.

These get zero love around here. I have seen the cabs listed for as low as $100. That's crazy considering the seller said it had Celestions (V30's I assume). It should have been sold instantly but it was up for a while.

There's a couple of variations, I like the one with the handwritten script and black meta grill, those always sounded best to me.

Blue Doodoo.

Sorry, someone had to say it. I'd say you're in the right ballpark in the $400 to $500 range, but it'll come down to finding a buyer. What speakers are in the cab? If they're Celestions (some were) you may do better to remove them and sell them separately.

If it were me, rather than just listing it as a Crate, you may want to use terms like "beginner" or "student" amp. You're likely aiming at a parent that's buying something for a kid who is just starting out and starting a band with friends. Price will be king, and you're working against the times (smaller amps ruling the market). But that may help.

Yeah, not well loved, not well reviewed. May do better splitting them up.
As for the cab having Vint 30s in it....nah, don't think so. Not stock, anyway. Usually they have Celestion's bulk sales drivers in them.

I'm not sure on the speakers.

I got for a really good deal at a store going out of business and probably wouldn't have bought it if I took the time to think about it. I knew it was too much amp for my needs but thought it was so cool to have a half stack. Being young, that got the better of me.

At this point, I'd just like rid of it and I'm alright with taking less. I'll try listing it at 500 just to see what offers I get. I highly doubt I'll get that much but I dont see any reason to not try. I know I'm not dealing with anything particularly sought after here. I wish it was something people were going crazy to get their hands on but I must face facts here haha.

I learned I like smaller amps from this myself. I still have ones that have more power than I really use but I can get a good sound without rattling the neighbor's windows lol. I've got a little Peavey Classic 20 that I can push a bit and still keep it reasonable. I just play for myself anyway and doubt that'll change any time soon.

you near Albuquerque by any chance? I always wanted to play through one to see if the negative hype was deserved.

No, NC. If I were nearby, I'd probably be willing to let you have a go on it.

I love the distortion channel, but I've never gotten along with the clean channel. It's just plain shrill. Even setting it where any other amp on the planet would sound like mud, it still sounds like ice picks in the ears. I have no problem being honest about it.

I don't know about reliability as I've never used it a whole lot apart from the first couple months I had it. It never gave me any problems and I did fire it up the other day to make sure and all seems well with it now. I have no way to know how it would handle harder regular use though.

And what speakers? Unknown? Have you hooked it up to a diff cab just for shizzies?

Unknown, whatever came stock.
Don't have another cab lol, everything else I have is a combo. I certainly would have if I had one though, just cause why not.

They used Celestion G12S-50s for a while but may have switched to their own Crate branded speakers.

I'd try some smoother drivers before giving up if it was me.

Q: humbuckers or singles?

I'd check the speakers out. Some of those cabs were loaded with Celestions and that would be the best way to make money on it.

I'll have to look at it, I really have no clue what kind of speakers it has. I wouldn't mind selling the head and cab separately if I can get more. I know I don't have anything spectacular here but I would still like to get as much as I can. I don't want to deal with selling the speakers separately though. I don't know, but I can't imagine many people would want an empty Crate cab husk.

I believe mine is a really early one so maybe it has Celestions. I'm not holding my breath, but it sounds worth checking though. I'll take a look at it tomorrow if I can. Busy getting ready to move in a few days so I might not have time. Of course, I can always check it at the new house. I'm not listing it until after the move anyway, I waited too long to do it before and now I'd rather wait until things calm down a bit.
